Kerry Believed Sadam Had WMD

Former Kerry political strategist Bob Shrum claims in his new book that not only did Kerry vote for the Iraq War for political reasons (Surprise!) but that Kerry also believed Sadam had Weapons of Mass Destruction.
Shrum writes that Kerry Press Secretary Jim Jordan,
"hammered" Kerry with a warning: "Go ahead and vote against it if you want, but you'll never be president of the United States." Kerry voted for the war resolution and Jordan became Kerry's campaign manager three months later.
Kerry spokesman Vinent Morris had this to say about Kerry’s vote,
"Senator Kerry voted [for the war resolution] based on the promise of effective diplomacy and because he believed that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction. He's said previously that this was the most difficult vote he's ever cast and he's acknowledged his vote was a mistake. Since that day, he's been one of the Senate's most outspoken voices to end the war."
If the episode as recounted in Shrum’s book is accurate, and if, as Morris states, Kerry truly believed Sadam had WMD, Kerry’s subsequent posturing that “Bush lied us into war”, is not only a fabrication, it is the mark of a man who is rank political opportunist.
