Bush: Last Of The Big Time Spenders?

From the AP:
Bush Warns He'll Veto Spending Bills

Please forgive my skepticism regarding Bush’s newfound desire to reign-in federal spending. In this regard, as noted by the AP, in perhaps one of the greatest understatements of the decade, “The president has had uneven success.”
…no kidding.
Bush’s recent epiphany on fiscal restraint, after years of his stewardship over one of the greatest expansions of the federal government, rings mighty hollow with conservatives. Like his sudden desire for border enforcement, after years of looking the other way as millions of illegals breached our very porous Southern border, Bush’s threat to exercise his Presidential veto (used on only a few occasions since he took office) over bloated budget bills, is too little too late.
Is it any wonder, that many in the rank and file are in open revolt against this President and the leaders of the Republican Party?
