In case anyone hadn’t noticed, the Democrats’ talking points on the Iraq War have evolved as follows (listed in descending order of importance):
-
1. We support the troops
-
2. A civil war is raging
-
3. The General’s are opposed to a troop surge
-
4. The recent election was a mandate to get out of Iraq now
Why then, given the importance of # 1., did the Democrats choose a man who gained notoriety by comparing our troops to Nazi’s?
There can be only one unflattering answer to that question.
Despite their public pronouncements to the contrary, the leaders of the Democratic Party loathe our military, as well as our troops. If they believe a defeat in Iraq will secure them partisan political advantage, they will eagerly embrace it — national security be damned.
