Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party Debate in Philadelphia

Some reflections on the Democrats’ debate last Tuesday in Philadelphia:
Hillary
Why all the surprise at her obfuscation, dodging and weaving during the debate? You would think that no commentators or pundits had ever listened to her tortured explanation for her Iraq War vote. Her crack-up was pre-ordained; it was only a question of time before her duplicitous nature was exposed publicly. Despite all the hoopla, all Russert did was force her to be consistent, based on her previous statements on particular issues.
Hillary is the most carefully choreographed candidate in the history of the Republic. As I have stated previously, dissembling and prevarication is part of the Clintons” DNA. She has no core values save for an unbridled quest for power and political expediency. Her campaign from the start has embodied these values in one form or another.
Since for most journalists, she is their candidate of choice, there has been a great deal of reluctance to upset the Hillary Apple Cart. As such, most questions journalists ask (when they are given access by the campaign organization to question her) are tepid, with little, if any, follow-up. Most journalists have been quite content to swallow the nostrums mouthed endlessly by Hillary with robotic predictability without challenge. If we had known then what we know now…
The reaction of her campaign staff was comical, if not telling: how dare you ask Queen Hillary a question that is not in her briefing book!!! One staff member suggested Tim Russert should be shot for forcing Hillary not to equivocate. If mainstream journalists had not been engaging in journalistic negligence for so long when it comes to covering the Clinton campaign for the nomination, the reaction of Hillary supporters would have been laughable and dismissed outright as sheer silliness.
With her posture on licenses for illegal immigrants, Hillary (as well as the entire Democratic Party) has hitched her wagon to a falling star. Watch for this inexplicable position to cost her dearly in the general election.
Obama
Mr. Milquetoast…
After telling us repeatedly and publicly, how hard he was going to be on Hillary, he was lobbed numerous softballs by the debate commentators, but instead of crashing them out of the park, given his tepid response, he barely managed to get a base hit.
Obama is not and never has been ready for prime time. The man has absolutely zero qualifications to be President. He is very much in love with the sound of his own voice. However, this is no substitute for substance or experience.
