Bill Clinton as Democratic Party Rock Star: Has Anyone Seen Bubba Lately?

Another one of the many great myths upon which Hillary's campaign strategy was based has now been exploded: the fallacy of Bill Clinton as a great asset to her campaign. How silly do the proclamations of those pundits and political "experts" who repeatedly told us the rock star was indispensable to the success of her campaign appear now! Reeling from the disastrous effects of a snarling, pugnacious, petulant and caustic Bill Clinton set loose on the campaign trail, the powers that be in Hillary's campaign have finally banished him to the hinterland. The unimaginable has happened:the storied Bill Clinton has become radioactive. Sorry HIllary… too little, too late.
As the ultimate narcissist, Hillary's campaign was always about him and his paranoid concern for the preservation of his legacy; it was never about her; and his ramblings on the campaign trail fully support his contention. Just last week, he made the Freudian slip once again of misplacing his pronouns. Watch it here.
The dirty little secret for the Hillary campaign was finding a short enough leash on which they, but more importantly, that he, would find comfortable. It is painfully obvious that no such accommodation was possible.
Ohio's Democratic voters don't seem to be buying any of the rock star's records lately. At several campaign stops, undoubtedly weary from Clinton fatigue after seeing Bill Clinton run amok, many people were underwhelmed with the "two for the price of one”, Clinton Restoration strategy implicitly trumpeted by HIllary:
Clare Walker, 48, who runs a family-owned shoe store up the block, called herself a political independent who has not decided how she will vote in the primary. She said she thought Mr. Clinton was a liability and should not be out campaigning for Mrs. Clinton. “It all has to do with Monica,” she said, referring to Mr. Clinton’s affair with a White House intern that led to his impeachment. “That was it for me.”
An equally troublesome matter, Ms. Walker said, was a $5 million loan Mrs. Clinton made to her campaign to keep it afloat before the coast-to-coast nominating contests on Feb. 5.
“Where did that come from?” she asked. “A lot of people in this area who thought she was for the working middle class, and the poor are wondering about that. That’s a lot of money. That really hurt her in this area.”
“That $5 million came out of nowhere,” Ms. Walker added. “I think even more than her husband that will cause her to lose. The people here are poor, but they’re not stupid.”
